Radio Azadi

Radio Azadi is the Afghan service of Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), funded by the United States Congress but operating with complete, internationally recognized editorial independence. Re-launched in January 2002 after the fall of the first Taliban regime, the station built on its historic legacy to become one of the most widely listened-to, trusted, and influential radio networks in modern Afghan history. Headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, and historically maintaining a massive, highly active bureau in Kabul, Radio Azadi’s mission is to provide accurate, uncensored news, promote democratic values, and foster open, inclusive public debate.
